St. Paul A St. Paul third grader has been suspended after he brought a small bag of marijuana to school and showed it to his friends, police and school officials said Tuesday.
The boy, a student at Benjamin E. Mays Magnet for Communication Arts and Leadership, was found with the drugs on Monday.
A school official called police just before noon, after another student said the boy had been showing the pot to friends, the police report said.
The boy said he found the marijuana at his home. His mother said someone must have left it there, said police spokesman Tom Walsh.
The case was reported to Ramsey County child protection services, Walsh said. There were no signs of negligence, nor a history of negligence, at the home, he said.
School district officials said they could not disclose the length of the boy's suspension.
